The Internet is growing at a robust pace and has become an inseparable part of our daily life. It is ubiquitous and just because of being a source of abundant information we are relying on this medium. For every small and big thing we come to internet and search for it. There are countless topics on which we share or exchange information. From the huge array of such topics one is the cost effective home appliances.

Home appliances are a broader category under which various items lie such as TV, refrigerator, washing machine, etc. These are the essential commodities that we need to have just to enjoy a peaceful and comforting lifestyle. But when the essential factors mingles with luxury the things get expensive. The same case is with LCD TV and Plasma TV. Both are the advanced versions with extraordinary features of typical television that are the integral part of our daily life.

Needless to inform you that the economies worldwide are in great slump and hence we are looking for the relatively cheaper options which can offer us luxury in minimum possible prices. In the recent time we look back to our financial constraints and planning our buying decisions. Buying a TV is the same experience and at the time of deciding the type we consider a lot many things.

In case you need to replace your current television you will find that buying a LCD or plasma will be a good deal. But let me tell you that these may seem cost effective up front but actually these are not economical due to their hidden costs. Most of the people are finding these options costly and thus a steep fall in their prices is noticed. Due to this reason various companies are stepping back to discontinue their Plasma TV lines.

Contrary to that it is good news for the consumers who are planning to own them as now they can buy the same sets with lesser amount or a flat discount. This drop in prices is enabling the middle class people to enjoy it. But while buying a plasma TV you should consider the basic things that affect the quality such as installation charges, repairing and maintenance services, a good service technician, spare parts, etc.

Considering these issues with plasma TV the LCD TV has taken over and it has broken all the records set by Plasma TV. It is comparatively cheaper with almost negligible hidden cost and ensures a good picture as well as audio quality. The recent statics reveal that internet is witnessing a new trend in the form of increased traffic looking for the cheaper TV option.

Plasma tv technology consists of hundreds of thousands of tiny pixel cells which are held between two panels of glass. Those cells hold a mixture of gasses. Electrical pulses excite the gas causing them to glow and produce light. Each pixel is made of three florescent lights. Those lights are coloured red, blue, and green. The colours blend together to create the overall colour of the pixel. The overall colour is used to produce what you see on your television.

Plasma tv’s offer impressive black colours and high contrast levels create a pleasurable viewing experience. This is favourable when watching shows or movies with dark scenes. The brightness, colour saturation, and strong contrast result in sharp, vivid images especially in dimly lit rooms. Plasmas are ideal in rooms with low to moderate lighting. Plasmas have a glass screen which can reflect a lot of light. This can be problematic in a room with a bright lighting from windows, skylights, or other lighting sources. Some manufactures have added glare reducing features to their plasma tvs.

Plasmas are a perfect choice for movies watchers, video gamers, and sports fanatics due to the plasma tvs quick response time. Fast images are displayed accurately and motion blur is negligible.

Because each plasma pixel produces its own light, plasma tv’s have a wide viewing angle. Images onscreen look virtually the same when viewed from the front or the side. TV placement and seating arrangement is not an issue with plasma televisions.

A few years ago there was quite a concern with burn-in from plasma televisions. Burn in is caused by static images being etched into the screen. Recently most plasma tv makers have corrected this problem by increasing the time it takes before a burn in or etching occurs.

People looking for large tv screen will find plasma tvs to be an excellent choice. Until recently plasma tvs were the only affordable upgraded technology with screens larger than 40 inches. A plasma television may be mounted on a wall or placed on a tv stand. If a plasma tv is mounted it must be anchored properly due to the excessive weight. Professional installation is often recommended because a 60 inch plasma tv can weigh over 100 pounds.

When considering the lifespan of a plasma television, one should expect a tv to last about 20 years if watched for 8 hours a day. That is about 60,000 hours of viewing. Energy usage is an important consideration when buying a plasma television. Manufacturers have begun manufacturing brands that emit less heat and are more energy efficient.

Research is important when it comes time to purchase a plasma tv. Knowledgeable sales people at electronics stores can help you determine which plasma tv is right for you. Discount department stores and warehouse outlets often have a large selection of plasma tv’s to choose from. If you prefer to shop without the pressure from a sales person, research can be done online. Websites can be used to compare brands and prices on specific models.

Unknown brand Cheap TVs cost more in the long run

Unknown brand Cheap televisions cost more in the long run

When you purchase a TV or any consumer electronic item you should consider more than just the purchase price, you should also think about the future repair costs and the life expectancy of the Television.

Cheap unbranded LCD TVs and cheap unbranded plasma TVs that are manufactured by unknown factories may appear to be excellent value for money. As a rule they are sold at lower prices than the comparable sized models from dependable known brands such as Hitachi, JVC, LG, Pioneer, Philips, Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba and Sharp. The specification that they offer may seem comparable to the main brands of televisions and often the styling isnt dissimilar.

Why are the known brands of televisions more expensive?

Obviously when you purchase a known brand of TV you are paying a premium for the brand, which you dont do on the unknown brand cheaper televisions. However is this the only difference?

One obvious reason for the known brands being more pricey is that they have UK warehouses, offices and staffunlike the cheaper brand TVs that are imported straight into the UK by importers from in Eastern Europe and China and are delivered directly to the retailer.

The manufacturers of unbranded cheap televisions dont have the same incentive to protect their TVs from being unreliable or poor quality. It doesnt matter to them if the TVs are unreliable or if they last for 4 years or 7years. Ultimately you wont know which factory manufactured the TV, as a result you wont be able to avoid it in the future if you buy an unreliable TV.

The probability of unbranded Cheap TVs becoming faulty at some point in the first 12 months or after is greater than for branded TVs since they dont boast the same stringent quality control systems.

The circuit design and internal components on unheard of cheap TV brands are not of the same quality as the main brands of TVs, again increasing the probability of the TV going faulty. Reliability surveys carried out by the consumer magazine Which have repeatedly found that TV brands such as Panasonic and Sony regularly out perform the cheaper unknown cheap TV brands.

It is more difficult to repair cheap televisions from unknown brands

The main brand manufacturers of TVs stock spare parts to expedite repairs this doesnt happen for the unknown cheaper TV brands. Often it is very difficult to obtain replacement parts for the unbranded cheap televisions .

If an repair engineer is struggling to come across the source of a fault on a main brand TV they can get technical assistance from the technical department of the UK subsiduary. In some cases if the repair engineer can’t fix the fault then the Television manufacturer will even carry out the repair. The unknown cheaper TV brands dont have this type of back up. So not only is it more probable that the unbranded cheap TV will go faulty but when it does it will be more difficult, if not impossible to obtain technical assistance. Furthermore it will in all probability take longer to acquire the parts. If the problem cant be resolved, due to no technical support, then the unbranded cheap Television is more likely to become unrepairable sooner than the main brand televisions and will need replacing at an earlier time.

It is not unknown when a branded TV has had very poor service history, for the manufacturer to replace, repair or subsidise the cost of the repair outside of beyond the 1 year guarantee as a good will gesture. It is improbable that this would happen for a cheap TVs from an unknown brand, which means that you would have to purchase a replacement one earlier than if you had bought a recognized brand of TV.

How does the performance of cheaper unknown TV brands compare to known TV Brands?

A further reason for the difference in the price between unknown brands and known main brands is that the main manufacturers invest in research and development to find ways of advancing current technology to improve the performance compared to unfamiliar brands. Quite often the technology and specification of cheaper LCD TVs and cheaper Plasma TVs from unknown brands is at least a year or more behind the technology in the equivalent major brand LCD televisions or Plasma televisions. The effect of this is that the performance of known brands is a cut above the cheaper unfamiliar brands. Ultimately magazines such as What Hifi and What Video give the unknown brands of cheap TVs low ratings compared to the recognized brands of TVs.

Conclusion

The main brand televisions are better supported, better designed and they have more features and they perform better than the unbranded cheap Television brands. As soon as all of this is taken into consideration the main Television brands represent a cheaper alternative in the long run delivering extra value and longer service than the unbranded cheap TV brands. Consequently make sure that when you purchase a television that is from a manufacturer such as Philips, Pioneer, Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic, JVC or LGand you will get superior value in the long run.

If people are considering purchasing an HDTV then they should really take the model’s contrast ratio into consideration. The contrast ratio along with screen resolution, have a major effect on the overall picture. A high contrast ratio is desired since these models produce fantastic colors that most accurately reflect “real world” conditions.

Contrast ratio can be defined as a unit of measurement of the ratio between the brightest (white) and darkest color (black) that the specific television can produce. Traditional CRT televisions, plasma, LCD and LED all produce different levels of the darkest blacks and brightest whites.

Unlike most tests, there is not a standard method for measuring the contrast ratio because each manufacturer has their own way of calculating it. As such, it can be difficult for consumers to compare different models with one another. On the other hand, ANSI (American National Standards Institute) developed a standard test using a checkerboard panel to measure both the white and black simultaneously, but the conditions of the room will play a role in the outcome.

A person can also measure contrast ratio in HDTV using what is called the “full on full off method” where the ratio between a pure black and pure white screen is measured. Although this test will produce a higher contrast ratio it is not a good representation of authentic viewing conditions.

The average consumer does not know what produces the sharpest colors and most would not assume that contrast ratio play such an integral part. The picture on an HDTV is made up of hundreds of thousands of tiny pixels and each of them is arranged to form complete pictures. Models with the best pictures are distinguished by their precision in separating the black pixels from nearby lighter pixels. Many companies are constantly looking to refine their technology to combat what is called “light leakage” in the industry.

Plasma TV’s have generally offered the highest contrast ratios with certain companies advertising ratios as high as 1,000,000 to 1. LCD and now LED technology have since been able to equal these contrast ratios while providing even brighter colors.

It is important to remember that the contrast ratio does not affect how well motion is rendered or displayed. HDTV delivers a quality picture so it is important to select a television with a good contrast ratio and resolution. Moreover, one should not waste the features of HDTV by using an old television with a poor contrast.

For consumers who are regular viewers of HDTV and HD movies, then televisions with high contrast ratios will be the most logical choice for their homes. No matter what type of television, whether it is plasma, LCD or LED, the screen resolution should always be taken into consideration. By considering all the facts regarding contrast ratio and resolution, people can select the right televisions for themselves.

With all of the different types of televisions there are to choose from, it can be hard enough to choose a type of TV, let alone trying to choose which television is better than the next. Much has been said for and against investing in a plasma screen television. The best way is to do your own research about the myths of plasma televisions and you will find how great a value a plasma television can be.

A lot of the myths about plasma screens have to do with damage that can happen to the screen when images are left to linger or when the television is turned off. Another concern is that picture quality can lessen when you are watching from other angles in the room. Actual testing done on the quality of plasma screen televisions offers a completely different picture.

Image retention is what it is called when you turn off your television and the image outline remains on the screen. When the television is left on pause for a while and the image stays behind once you take the television off of pause that is known as burn in. When it comes to being an issue with plasma screen televisions, these are myths.

If you look at the actual research you will find that image retention rarely last more than 24 hours and has little, if any, long term effect on your plasma TV screen. Testing also shows that images have been left on pause for days and no permanent damage was done to the screen.

Picture image qualities at wide angles have also been named as something to be on the lookout for when buying a plasma TV. Once again, the test data proves that to be a myth. Testing showed that the black levels and the colour accuracy of the plasma television screens are able to produce images of a much higher quality than other television alternatives.

Testing further showed that plasma television screens have better depth and realism in the clarity of the picture image quality. Watching movies on a plasma screen television offers a more accurate representation of what the movie directors had intended their audience to see.

There is much more to choosing a great value in a new television than finding the lowest price in town. Real value is the best quality that you can find for the money. You have to be sure to consider the picture, sound, and overall quality of the product in order to ensure you are getting the most for your hard earned money.

Plasma televisions may be slightly higher priced than the competing types of televisions, but the quality of the plasma screen televisions makes it well worth the price. For a superior television experience, plasma televisions can not be beaten. Compare products for yourself and you will find that plasma television provides the best possible quality at a fair price.

We scoured every corner of the internet to find everything you ever wanted to know about the plasma widescreens Here is the absolute best sources we uncovered <noindex>plasma panasonic 50 inch</noindex> and <noindex>jvc plasma tv</noindex>

In cases when such info are actually found, there is likelihood that they may be incomplete and you may be hard put to find the other pieces of puzzle by digging up the internet further. This is no piece of cake.

That is why zeroing in on a site that particularly offers information on the specific item of electronics that you are interested in will usually mean some rejoicing of some sort because most of these websites are so focused on their subjects that they tend to contain tons of info about their particular topics. One tiny drawback however is that they may require some membership fees.

Now, paying for membership in these sites shouldn’t be looked upon as something negative. After all, these payments will most probably go to the salaries of their webmasters and to the maintenance their sites.

I am currently a member of such sites to help me in quest to learn flat screen TV repair. Most of them require only one-time payment in exchange for lifetime access to their database which contain tons useful information. The reasons why I like these sites are further enumerated below:

1. There are some electronics repair sites, like some flat screen TV repair training membership sites that I personally joined, who require only a one-time fee in exchange for unlimited access to their vault of technical data; which, in the case of the TV repair membership sites, pertain to TV repair how-to information and technical literature. Furthermore, you get lifetime access which means you get access to future database updates which is a pretty cool deal especially for people in the electronics servicing field.

2. Training and service manuals, step-by-step guides, schematic diagrams are usually included in these sites for paid member to access and download. Virtually everything you need is here which saves you a whole lot of your time which would have been otherwise spent digging up the search engines just to get complete information.

3. In terms of cost, you save a lot more money not only in terms of time but actual money. There are some sites that offer pay-per-download service which are not necessarily training membership sites. Each manual cost around $10 up.

Most membership sites that ask for one-time payment have tons of technical literature in their servers that are ready for download 24/7. Some of these sites have around 400 to 600 (or more) service and training manuals, schematic diagrams, step-by-step guides in easily readable formats. Other sources of these may ask for for $10 per download per download. So for the price of $50, which is approximately what the one-time payment training sites charge, you will get only about 5 downloads from a per-download basis site. This is a rip-off compared to the one-payment sites.

4. Studying how to repair electronics through online electronics repair forums and training sites have the advantage of affording a lot of convenience for the recipient because you can study anytime and anywhere you may be. Most people will love the convenience of learning right inside their homes or offices instead of going out to real schools with real classrooms.

5. Electronics are always advancing and going through its life cycle of invention and obsolescence. Electronics repair shops can have a fighting chance to keep up with the likewise evolving needs of consumers in the servicing department. Online electronics repair training sites allow you to learn as quickly as possible to take advantage of new market demands.

If you’ve been taking note of current events in the flat screen TV industry, you probably know that it has been going through some pretty huge demand surges that only support the hypothesis that the TV repair industry is still in bloom. Take heed of this huge potential money-maker by training yourself and your crew on how to repair new electronics like plasma and LCD TVs and other flat screen televisions that are coming out so that you won’t get left behind. Watch out for an influx of plasma and LCD TV repair owners begging you to fix their televisions!

Christmas is only just around the corner. With this in mind, why not buy a new TV as a stunning Christmas Gift? As a TV is a big money purchase, its a good idea to check out what is available on the market before buying. The LG-50PS3000 is a good, value for money TV which offers plenty of extras. The following review will list the benefits of this TV and give an overview of what you can expect to get for your money when you buy.

Already Set For Freeview

By 2012 TV will be received in digital format all over the UK, which is a move from the current analogue format. This is not a problem with the LG-50PS3000 as it comes with Freeview/Digital. Freeview offers up to 48 Channels, along with the usual mainstream UK stations. The service is subscription free, which is an added bonus as its now very expensive to have Satellite or Cable TV.

USB

There is a USB port on the TV which allows fast transfer of pictures and music to the TV. A great and very useful feature, given that so many items are run off USB these days.

Go Green With Intelligent Sensor

Suffers of eyestrain while watching TV will enjoy the Intelligent Sensor feature. It optimizes picture functions and adjusts when changes occur in the viewing room.

Built In “Invisible” Speakers

The front bezel works as a speaker, replacing the normal speaker grill. With the Invisible Speaker System, the speakers are embedded in strategic spots underneath and around the front bezel. This speaker system provides a clean and fashionable design compared with traditional side or bottom speaker designs.

With is good reviews and excellent features, the LG-50PS3000 is the TV for this Christmas. Buy as a gift, or for yourself to make the most of your Christmas viewing.

The plasma television is a relatively new type of television, with a flat screen display. It works by having a mixture of different noble gases in small compartments behind a panel of glass. The plasma TV derives its name from the reaction in which these noble gases are turned into plasma, which emits light and forms the display you see. Plasma TV’s are often compared to LCD’s (liquid crystal displays), another type of flat screen television that uses liquid crystals in front of backlighting or fluorescent tubes to produce images.

Plasmas and LCDs, flatter and lighter than tube televisions, are also less difficult to manage than traditional CRT (or tube) televisions. Though, on average, they are a hefty 5 inches thick and 100 pounds, recent advances in plasma technology will soon cut their thickness down to an inch and their weight down to 45 pounds. Consumers can now take some liberties in the placement of their plasma TV’s. Plasmas can easily be mounted on walls or placed on smaller stands.

Flat screen televisions cover a range of much higher resolutions than do traditional televisions. High definition plasmas and LCDs have resolutions from 1024×768 pixels per square inch to 1920×1080 pixels. The ceiling of resolution for CRTs stands at a mere 480 lines, providing a much more muddled picture than plasmas or LCDs do.

Plasma television manufacturers boast a lifetime of up to 60,000 hours for their televisions, compared to a CRT television’s life span of at least 5 years. Which is better? Depending on how much a plasma is turned on, its lifespan can range anywhere from 7 years (turned on for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) to 55 years (turned on for 3 hours a day). The lifespan of a plasma TV is significantly greater than that of a CRT TV.

Color reproduction and contrast ratio are two important components of a clear picture. Plasma televisions excel in both; they produce richer, more vibrant colours and truer blacks than LCDs. Due to the backlighting in LCDs, any pixel that should be black will have some light leaking through, which spoils the contrast.

The image of both LCDs and plasmas is comparable when viewed directly in front of the screen. However, plasma televisions have a wider viewing angle than their counterparts. Backlighting causes this problem in LCDs; the image on the screen degrades as the viewing angle increases. Plasmas can be viewed from the sides or top and bottom.

In older models of plasma TVs, the burn-in effect posed a significant problem. When an image (for example, a paused movie) is kept on the screen for too long, the image could be burned into the screen and still faintly visible afterwards. Plasma TV companies have worked to eradicate this problem with much success; while it is still possible for images to burn in, on newer plasmas the possibility is almost negligible.

Plasmas also have virtually no size limitations; depending on a consumer’s budget, plasma screens can go up to any size. LCD and CRT televisions, on the other hand, are confined to approximately 40 inches diagonal.

Over the years, our means of watching television has greatly changed. Televisions are changing with the tide and you can get more TV that takes up less space, today. Advances in science and engineering have provided us with plasma TVs and LCD TVs that provide better images in a smaller space, even though the screens, themselves, are larger. When consumers enter local stores, they typically don’t know much about the various types of set that are available. Knowing a little bit about each kind of set will allow you to choose the set that works best for your needs.

For the past forty years, televisions have used cathode ray tubes. Cathode ray tubes give great quality but are cumbersome. Now, not only are TVs smaller and less obtrusive, they are more technically advanced, as well. It used to be that the wider the screen, the larger the television would get because of the tube size. The television set, itself, had to accommodate the increase exponentially.

With plasma television technology comes the capability of having a larger or wider screen without increasing the size of the set, all together. No longer does the size of the set have to double just because the width of the viewing screen increases. Plasma televisions have gas based particles that float freely, these ions are known as plasma. When electricity is introduced to the plasma, the electrons disperse a form of light. Pixels are grouped in three shades; green, red and blue. These groups allow for all of the colors in the spectrum to be dispersed onto the viewing screen.

Plasma televisions have matching quality images to cathode ray tubes, with very little difference in quality. However, there are many advantages to owning a plasma TV, even more than owning an LCD TV. There is a larger viewing angle present with a plasma TV and the brightness of the picture on the screen is much better viewed in the dark than with a tube television.

Plasma TVs are great, there’s no doubt about that. However, much like anything else, there are cons to owning plasma as compared to an LCD television. Plasma TVs require a huge amount of energy, so much that your electric bill may raise by 25 percent or more. Panasonic, the leading manufacturer of plasma televisions, claims that they have made great progress in reducing the amount of energy required to run their sets. Plasma TVs originally had some problems with image burn in; the image would be frozen into the screen and ghost images were encountered. This flaw seems to have been fixed over the past few years. LCD TVs don’t do a very good job of reflecting a glare, but new strides are being made constantly where this is concerned.

Buyers now have so many more choices and options to select that it’s hard to fathom the fact that once, we had no choices in televisions. Now that you have learned a bit about the kinds of sets that are available on the market, you can make the right choice.

Now that you know more about the sets that are available to you, get online and go to Ramblax.com to find more information and a wide assortment of plasma TVs. Ramblax will give you set information, reviews and prices for a range of television retail stores.
